How Your Business Can Save on Taxes - Using a Tax Law From 1978

Right about now, business owners are gearing up for the Christmas selling season. Granted most consumers aren't thinking about that yet, but business owners have a tendency to think ahead. So in the spirit of thinking ahead, as a business owner, would you like to immediately save money on your taxes?
Yes, April 15 is a long way away, but think about it, if you could take action now, to lower your tax burden, wouldn't you want to at least consider it?
There is a very underutilized section of the tax code that was introduced by the IRS in 1978, that can still save business owners money right now. It's completely legal and provides tax relief to small business owners.
SECTION 125:
Section 125 of the US Tax Code was introduced in 1978. Called the Cafeteria plan, it basically, it allows businesses and specifically business owners to shift the benefits payouts for things like health insurance, voluntary insurance and dependent care costs to pre-tax dollars instead of post tax dollars.

Purchasing Time Clock Software? 2 Questions You Should Ask Before Deciding

So, you've decided it's time to invest in time clock software to help you track your employees' hours and generate payroll. Your hope is that such an investment will not only keep your employees honest, but save you time and administrative costs.
You get online and start searching. Before long, you're overwhelmed by the number of time clock options. You see programs with varying features that range in price from under a hundred to thousands of dollars. With so many choices, you begin to wonder what your business needs from a time clock software and how to get those features without breaking the bank.
Every business has different needs when it comes to time clock software. For that reason, you should choose software that is flexible and has a broad range of customizable features. But basing your search on features alone won't narrow the field. When choosing time clock software, always ask two questions: First, how long have the software providers been in business? And second, can I contact them over the phone? The answers to these two questions are important to the ongoing reliability of your software. Just as easily as you may have found a program online, its site could be pulled from the web and along with it, any available technical support. Believe it or not, behind many fancy websites, there is a single person running the entire show. It's important to consider whether a one-man operation could be reached to provide technical support on the eve of payroll or just before running quarterly reports. More importantly, one should consider whether the software developer has stood by its product and will be around to resolve any issues that may arise.

What To Keep In Mind When Considering Online Accounts

The way that information used to be kept by business owners was in a book stashed in a drawer or left on a desk. These days however, things have changed quite a bit and now most of the data that a company stores will be electronically. We live in a high-tech age and it has become vital that companies do all they can to protect their customer information. Security is very important to most people so all companies should make sure that they are taking this issue seriously. The last thing anyone would want is to lose their customers data as it could ruin their business reputation.
A lot of people assume that it is a much safer way to store data online than the way it was done in the past and in most cases they would be correct in this assumption. However it is important to note that should a hacker want to access your data, they probably could. The good thing is that most hackers will not actually want to get to your data so there is no much need to be concerned. There is no need for hackers to get your accounts information as they would probably not have much use for it.
